Brag
Time to brag about our awesome members who just wrapped up a brutal 3-month training wave of running (ew), CrossFit, and heavy lifting. After all their training, athletes were able to increase their strength by adding a combined total of 2343 pounds across all lifts and PR their mile run by roughly 40 seconds! In total, 17 athletes PR’d their mile run with 118 different PRs in weightlifting!
Highlights
On top of all the amazing PRs, athletes completed several substantial benchmarks and notable feats. The first of these feats came as it does every Memorial Day with the community taking part in the annual hero workout ‘Murph’. This workout is dedicated to Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy and was one of his favorite workouts to do which he named ‘Body Armor’ but it will forever be known as ‘Murph’. If the 2 miles of weighted running weren’t enough for some, those that were wild enough took part in Ragnar Trail Michigan where Fusion Athletics sent 4 teams. Each athlete completed a 2.8, 5.6, and 7.7-mile trail run, relay-style while battling sleep deprivation, rain, and the occasional wild gong.
Take Away
If they didn’t already know it, our members are the best! They come in and push themselves every single day and share with us the desire to get better in every area of their lives, both as athletes and as people. There is no perfect roadmap to success but if there is one thing to be counted on, it’s that consistent training gets rewarded. If you’d like to join this awesome crew, start here.
